Where we are

1275 Glenlivet Drive, Suite 100
Allentown, PA 18106

In-person sessions in Allentown are by appointment only, scheduled Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern. There are no drop-in hours, so please call or request an appointment before visiting.

Who we work with here

Allentown sits at the center of the Lehigh Valley, and our clients here come from across Lehigh and Northampton counties — Allentown itself, Bethlehem, Easton and the boroughs around them. They are adults and couples, and a good number work in healthcare, education and the professions.

The work is often about anxiety that has become physical, burnout that rest no longer touches, grief, difficulty in close relationships, a life transition that has unsettled more than expected, or a persistent sense of not being quite good enough that bears no relation to how others see you.

Therapy for people who do this work themselves

A particular part of our practice is with healthcare and mental health professionals — nurses, physicians, social workers, therapists. Finding a therapist when you are one, or when you work alongside them, brings its own difficulties: the field is small, confidentiality feels thinner, and there is often an assumption that you should already be managing. Those sessions are held with that in mind.

In person, or by video

Traffic across the Valley at the end of a working day can make an early-evening appointment harder than it looks on the calendar. Secure video sessions are available to anyone located in Pennsylvania, and many clients alternate — in the room when it suits, online when the day does not allow it.

Being physically in Pennsylvania at the time of the session is a licensing requirement rather than a preference. A Pennsylvania license covers clients who are in Pennsylvania.

What a first appointment is like

The first session is 60 minutes — largely you talking, and Catherine listening. Later sessions are shorter, with longer appointments available where the work benefits from them, and separate couples sessions.

Current fees, and the sliding-scale places held for genuine financial hardship, are on the fees page.

How we work

Catherine provides individual and couples therapy. Which methods are used depends on you; nobody is fitted to a protocol.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) features heavily, especially with anxiety, burnout and low mood. It is structured and practical — identifying the thinking that keeps a difficulty in place, then testing different responses — which many people find a relief after years of talking around something without it shifting.

That sits alongside person-centered (Rogerian) work, mindfulness-based techniques (MBCT and ACT), strengths-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused collaboration. There is more on each on our approach page.
