Millmark Counseling Psychotherapy & Psychological Care

Therapist in Reading, PA (Online Therapy)

Millmark Counseling works with adults and couples in Reading and Berks County by secure video. We do not have a Reading office — ours are in Allentown and East Stroudsburg. Sessions are with Catherine Denzel, LCSW.

Reading, and the drive you do not have to make

Allentown is about forty minutes from Reading, and East Stroudsburg considerably further. Coming in person is possible, and some people do it. But an hour and a half of driving around a fifty-minute appointment is the sort of arithmetic that quietly ends therapy after six weeks.

Video removes that arithmetic. You attend from home, or from a parked car, or from anywhere in Pennsylvania with a door that closes.

A note on language

Catherine’s clinical work is conducted in English. She has conversational Spanish, which can help at the edges of a conversation, but therapy that needs to happen in Spanish deserves a clinician who works in Spanish — and we would rather say so than have you find out three sessions in. If that is what you need, say so when you call and a staff member will be straight with you about whether we are the right fit.

What people bring

Anxiety, and the physical tension that comes with it. Burnout and exhaustion that rest has stopped fixing. Grief, bereavement and ambiguous loss. Relationship and attachment difficulties. Life transitions and shifts in identity. Chronic self-doubt that does not match how anyone else sees you.

Adults 18 and over, and couples.

How we work

Catherine provides individual and couples therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is central to it: structured, evidence-based, and focused on the thinking patterns that keep a difficulty going, with practical work between sessions rather than only during them.

Also drawn on: person-centered (Rogerian) therapy, mindfulness-based techniques including MBCT and ACT, strengths-based therapy, trauma-informed care and solution-focused collaboration. See the approach page.

The location requirement

You need to be physically in Pennsylvania during the session. A Pennsylvania license covers clients located in Pennsylvania — worth knowing if you work across the Maryland line.

Fees

Current fees, and the sliding-scale places held for genuine economic hardship, are on the fees page.
